The EArtH Foundation, in collaboration with APPS Associates, recently celebrated the successful completion of a transformative skills program in the Siddipet district. Telangana State SC Commission Chairman Bakki Venkataiah commended the foundation for its significant contributions to improving education quality in government schools. The foundation adopted eight schools in the district, enhancing resources for students in grades 6 through 10. Initiatives included computer education, hands-on science experiments through the “Science LAB on Wheels” program, yoga, and a strong emphasis on sports, particularly kabaddi. Additionally, motivational classes were conducted to inspire students and guide them toward achieving their educational aspirations.

The program culminated in an exciting series of competitions, including kabaddi, essay writing, science exhibitions, and speeches, with prizes awarded to outstanding participants. Noteworthy achievements were recorded by Thimmapur High School and Bhoompalli High School, both excelling in the kabaddi competition. The event was graced by several dignitaries, including Siddipet District SO Bhaskar, retired teacher Manjula, and various headmasters and physical education teachers. EArtH Foundation members, including Director Vennela, Skills Program Coordinator Anjaneyulu, and Foundation Coordinator Raju, along with team members Nagalakshmi, Himabindu, Suresh, Bhargavi, Prashanth, Swami, Niharika, Kaushik, and Imran, were also in attendance, celebrating the program’s success and the achievements of the students.

The EArtH Foundation recently launched the innovative “Village BAG” program, a bold initiative aimed at eliminating plastic and paving the way for a plastic-free Bharat.

Event Overview: The launch took place at Bhoompally Government School in Siddipet District, inaugurated by Bakki Venkataiah. The event featured notable guests, including Bhaskar and MNO Anjayya, who also delivered speeches highlighting the program’s importance.

Venkataiah expressed his enthusiasm for the “Village BAG” initiative, emphasizing its critical role in environmental protection and reducing plastic waste. Bhaskar underscored that eliminating plastic is a shared responsibility, urging community members to actively engage in this vital cause. Mangalampalli Raju, Director of EArtH Foundation, articulated a vision for the “Village BAG” program as a new freedom movement, aiming to implement it in every village across the country.

The event was further enriched by the participation of MNO Anjayya, Adarsha Committee Chairperson Gautami, school teachers like Srinivas, and EArtH Foundation coordinators Anjaneyulu, Niharika, Prashant, Mahipal, and Imran, among others, all uniting in support of this important initiative.

Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at EArtH-adopted schools, creating a vibrant and patriotic atmosphere. Children dressed as iconic freedom fighters, proudly marched with national flags, and chanted inspiring slogans. They performed lively dances to patriotic tunes in village centers, further enhancing the festive spirit.

Teachers engaged students by recounting India’s struggle for independence, sharing inspiring stories of freedom fighters and their sacrifices. The EArtH team visited the schools to deepen the children’s understanding of these heroes, highlighting their significant contributions and vital role in nation-building.

The celebration culminated in the distribution of prizes and sweets, leaving the young generation motivated to contribute to their country’s progress. This joyous occasion not only honored India’s history but also instilled a strong sense of national pride and responsibility in the students, encouraging them to carry forward the legacy of freedom and unity.

Raksha Bandhan, often referred to as Rakhi, is a cherished Hindu festival that honors the special bond between brothers and sisters. The term “Raksha” means protection, while “Bandhan” signifies a bond. On this meaningful day, sisters tie a sacred thread called a rakhi around their brothers’ wrists, symbolizing their love and heartfelt prayers for their brothers’ well-being. In return, brothers commit to protecting and supporting their sisters throughout their lives.

This year, Raksha Bandhan was vibrantly celebrated at EArtH Foundation schools in Telangana and Maharashtra, including both adopted and newly adopted institutions. The festivities provided children with an opportunity to understand the festival’s significance, strengthening their bonds of love and friendship while fostering unity and cultural appreciation. Sisters tied rakhis on their brothers’ wrists and exchanged sweets, further enhancing the festive spirit and nurturing their relationships.

The event saw enthusiastic participation from both teachers and students, making it a joyous and meaningful occasion for everyone involved. This celebration not only honored tradition but also reinforced the values of love, protection, and community among the young generation.

Krishna Janmashtami was celebrated with great enthusiasm in Bhoompally, Peddapuram, Cherlapalli, Thimmapur, Puligilla, and Kammarlapally. Students showcased their talents through vibrant dances, with girls adorning themselves as Gopikas and boys dressed as Lord Krishna, complete with flutes. Teachers added to the festive atmosphere by drawing Krishna’s footprints on the floor, symbolizing his divine presence.

Children also engaged in the traditional activity of beating the “vutti,” which heightened the excitement of the celebrations. This event not only allowed students to understand and appreciate cultural traditions but also encouraged creativity through dance and role-play, fostering a sense of community and unity among them.

In addition to these local festivities, the celebration also included elements of “Dahi Handi,” a popular event primarily celebrated in Maharashtra during Janmashtami. This thrilling activity involves forming a human pyramid to break a pot (handi) filled with curd (dahi) or butter, suspended at a height. Inspired by Lord Krishna’s playful childhood antics—where he famously stole butter and curd from pots—this tradition brings people together in joyful celebration, reflecting the spirit of camaraderie and festivity that characterizes the festival.

On the occasion of No Bag Day, students embarked on enriching visits to several significant locations:

Visit to the Sub-Court in Parakala Town: This visit offered students valuable insights into the judicial system, allowing them to observe its operations firsthand and understand the role of the courts in upholding justice.

Visit to Amaradhama in Parakala Town: At this historic site, students explored the rich cultural heritage of the region, gaining an appreciation for its historical significance and the traditions that have shaped their community.

Visit to the Parakala Police Station: This experience provided students with an understanding of law enforcement’s critical role in maintaining public safety. They learned about the various responsibilities of police officers and the importance of community cooperation in fostering a secure environment.

These visits not only broadened students’ knowledge but also encouraged them to engage with their community and appreciate the structures that support it.

National Space Day in India is an opportunity to celebrate the country’s achievements in space science, promote STEM education, and inspire future generations to engage in space exploration. This year, National Space Day was celebrated in Kammarlapally with enthusiasm. Teachers encouraged students to express their creativity by drawing space-themed illustrations in their skill books, fostering a sense of wonder and curiosity about the universe. Through these activities, students not only honed their artistic skills but also deepened their understanding of the exciting possibilities within the field of space science.

Under the leadership of the EArtH Foundation, the “Plant a Tree for Mother” initiative was successfully launched in response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for environmental conservation. Students at Thimmapur Government School enthusiastically participated by planting saplings and naming them after their mothers, symbolizing gratitude and love for maternal figures. The event was honored by the presence of Siddipet District SO Bhaskar, who served as the chief guest, inspiring students to engage in sustainable practices and nurturing a sense of responsibility towards the environment. This initiative not only contributed to green efforts but also fostered a deeper connection between the students and their families.

At EArtH Foundation-adopted schools, students and teachers joyfully celebrated Telugu Language Day by organizing a vibrant poetry competition. Known as Telugu Bhasha Dinotsavam, this annual celebration takes place on August 29 and is dedicated to honoring and promoting the rich heritage of the Telugu language, a prominent Dravidian language predominantly spoken in the Indian states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The event not only showcased students’ creativity and literary talent but also fostered a deeper appreciation for their cultural identity and linguistic heritage. Through engaging activities, participants strengthened their connection to the Telugu language and its significance in their lives.

Dhyan Chand (1905–1979) was an iconic Indian field hockey player, celebrated as one of the greatest in the sport’s history. Renowned for his extraordinary ball control and dribbling skills, he earned the nickname “The Wizard.” On National Sports Day, we honored Dhyan Chand’s remarkable legacy by offering flowers in tribute, recognizing his contributions to Indian sports and inspiring future generations of athletes.

In EArtH Foundation’s adopted and newly adopted schools in Telangana and Maharashtra, a diverse range of daily activities is integrated into the curriculum. These include prayer, general knowledge sessions, meditation, games, physical exercise, yoga, and dance. This holistic approach fosters both mental and physical development in children, instilling discipline, enhancing focus, and promoting overall well-being.

Additionally, these activities encourage teamwork, creativity, and a balanced lifestyle, all of which contribute to the students’ academic success and personal growth.

In Maharashtra, students practiced the Lezim dance, a traditional folk dance of the region, with great dedication. Their commitment to mastering the movements and rhythm reflected their enthusiasm and appreciation for their cultural heritage, culminating in an engaging performance that showcased their talent and pride.

At the EArtH Foundation, teachers introduced simple and effective drawing techniques, enabling students to create beautiful artwork with confidence. As a result, every student was able to draw impressively, significantly boosting their self-esteem and making the learning process enjoyable and accessible for all.

In Maharashtra’s adopted schools, incorporating drawing into daily activities fosters creativity and enhances fine motor skills, allowing children to express their thoughts and emotions visually. This artistic practice not only improves concentration and self-confidence but also offers a balanced approach to their overall development by seamlessly blending academic learning with creative expression. Through these activities, students are empowered to explore their artistic potential while growing holistically.
