The Bathukamma celebrations at EArtH Foundation’s adopted schools in Telangana were a vibrant and joyous affair this year. Students and teachers enthusiastically came together to craft stunning Bathukammas, adorned with vibrant flowers, and prepared traditional prasadams. Dressed in festive attire, the school community participated in dandiya dancing, sang melodious folk songs, and concluded the festivities with the ceremonial immersion of the Bathukammas in water.
Adding a meaningful touch, teachers shared insights about the cultural and historical significance of Bathukamma, enriching students’ understanding of the festival’s heritage. To encourage creativity, one school recognized and rewarded the three most beautifully decorated Bathukammas, making the celebrations even more memorable.
Abdul Kalam’s birthday was celebrated with great respect and enthusiasm at the adopted schools in both Telangana and Maharashtra. The event began with the ceremonial garlanding of his photo, followed by active participation from students and teachers alike. Teachers delivered inspiring speeches highlighting Dr. Kalam’s remarkable contributions to ISRO, his vision for India, and his enduring impact on young minds. Adding a personal touch, some students shared heartfelt speeches about what they had learned from his life and achievements, reflecting the profound influence of his legacy on the younger generation.
The EArtH Foundation organized an educational visit to a rice mill in the village of Bhoompalli as part of a special Dussehra holiday project. Students had the unique opportunity to observe and learn about the intricate process of transforming paddy into rice at the factory.
The event was guided by EArtH Foundation coordinators Anjaneyulu and Prashant, along with Amma Adarsha Committee Chairperson Gautami Madam, staff members Sarita and Navitha, and enthusiastic support from the students’ parents. To further enrich the experience, students later watched an educational story on TV, highlighting the cultural and historical significance of the Dussehra festival.
Global Handwashing Day was celebrated with enthusiasm at Thimmapur and Puligilla schools. Students actively participated in engaging handwashing activities and performed an informative skit showcasing the five essential steps of proper handwashing. Teachers complemented these activities by emphasizing the vital role of handwashing in promoting health and hygiene, leaving a lasting impact on the students’ understanding of this crucial habit.
Diwali was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Thimmapur School, where students created stunning rangoli designs adorned with vibrant colors and lit diyas to enhance their beauty. Teachers added a meaningful touch to the festivities by explaining the cultural and spiritual significance of Diwali, enriching the students’ understanding of the festival.
In Kasulabad, Jakkapur, and Velkatur, the EArtH Foundation organized heartfelt Diwali celebrations at the home of a student from a low-income background. As part of the initiative, the Foundation provided essential items and fireworks, ensuring the family could fully partake in the festive spirit. These celebrations fostered a sense of community, joy, and inclusivity, embodying the true essence of Diwali.
The EArtH Foundation organized a comprehensive health check-up at Bahegaon School, ensuring the active participation of all students. This initiative was part of the Foundation’s ongoing commitment to promoting student well-being and fostering a healthy learning environment.
Qualified healthcare professionals conducted the check-up, evaluating various aspects of the students’ health, including general physical fitness, vision, and oral hygiene. The event also provided an opportunity for students to learn about the importance of regular health assessments and maintaining healthy habits. The EArtH Foundation conducted a Mother Awareness Program across its adopted schools in Velkatur, Jakkapur, Puligilla, and Cherlapalli, focusing on empowering parents to actively support their children’s education and overall development. The program emphasized the vital role parents play in nurturing positive behavior, providing guidance, and fostering a strong home-school partnership.
EArtH Foundation Director, Vennela, addressed the participants, offering valuable insights on effective parenting strategies to encourage good behavior and healthy habits in children. In the adopted schools of Telangana and Maharashtra, students are enthusiastically engaging in a variety of enriching activities that foster their overall development. In Telangana, they are learning the classical Kuchipudi dance, focusing on intricate Mudras, while in Maharashtra, they are embracing the vibrant Garbha dance. These cultural pursuits not only immerse students in their heritage but also promote teamwork, creativity, confidence, and physical coordination, strengthening community bonds.
Art is a significant part of their learning experience across all schools. Students have showcased their creativity by crafting parrots using leaves, drawing beautiful illustrations, and making paper lamps. These activities encourage self-expression and nurture their imaginative potential.
Both indoor and outdoor games are integral to their daily routine. Indoor activities include chess and carrom, while outdoor games like kabaddi, skipping, and running keep students active. These games enhance physical fitness, foster teamwork, and instill a sense of sportsmanship.
Additionally, daily meditation, yoga, and exercise sessions are incorporated into their schedule, promoting both physical health and mental clarity.
